The origin of Christopher Leung Singing & Piano Academy Ottawa is Montréal, Québec. The founder Christopher Leung brought his valuable experience of music education and performance from his city, Hong Kong, to serve the communities in Montréal for 3 years. Within this period of time, he took part in the choir of  Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, participated opera production ‘The Gondoliers’ presented by Lakeshore Light Opera, performed piano in retirement residence during christmas, and gave lessons (piano & Singing, online and in-person) in his studio in Ville de Mont-Royal. It affirmed his abilities as a all-rounded musician.

Since 2023, he relocated his studio in Kanata and started recruiting local students. He enjoys to share his experience with students to motivate them for fulfilling their needs, such as taking examinations  ( Royal Conservatory of Music or Trinity College of London), preparing auditions or competitions and enjoying music fun.

Christopher Leung Lo On graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and studied under Mr. Gong Dongjian and Ms. Ella Kiang, majored in vocal studies. He also studied piano under Dr. Cheng Wai. After acquiring Bachelor of Music Leung was offered ‘Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Society Scholarship’ as a visiting student at the Academy.

Leung had worked with and staged for various music productions after graduation, including Alice in Wonder in 2021 (World Premiere) by Pierangelo Valtinoni with HK Yip’s Children’s Choir; Turandot, Il Trovatore. Romeo and Juliet, Rigoletto, La Traviata, I Pagliacci and La Boheme with Musica Viva; Salome with Opera Hong Kong; Missa solemnis with The Hong Kong Bach Choir ;Mozart Requiem and Israel In Egypt with Die Konzertisten.

 

Despite of singing performance, Leung also has a passion in promoting choral education and activities. After obtaining his Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the Hong Kong Baptist University in 2011, he was invited to coach The HK Bach Choir, Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus and Hong Kong Treble Choir, HK Yip’s Children Choir and HK University of Technology Teachers’ Choir; he was the program host of ‘ Bel Canto Singing’ of Metro Broadcast.
